Guido Marilungo plays in the striker role for Atalanta BC. He was born on 9 August 1989 in Montegranaro, Italy.
Guido started his youth career playing for a local club at Montegranaro. He studied at the club’s academy until 2003 when he was spotted by the scouts from US Sampdoria. He was invited for a tryout at that club after which he was offered a place in the squad. A young player accepted the offer and studied at Sampdoria academy until 2008.
In 2008 Marilungo was promoted to Sampdoria senior team. He agreed to a contract and joined the first team in the summer of the same year. During the first season he performed in several club matches and in 2009 he was given out on loan to US Lecce. Throughout the 2009/10 season he was an effective element of the squad thus scoring 13 goals in 35 total appearances.
By the end of the loan spell Guido returned to Sampdoria and periodically appeared in the starting lineup. All in all as a member of that club he featured in 22 matches and netted 3 goals. In the summer of 2011 the player was acquired by Atalanta BC where he was entrusted the place alongside experienced strikers in the attacking line. At present Marilungo continues his successful performance for Atalanta.
From 2009 till 2010 Guido represented the Italy U-21 team in 7 matches and netted 2 goals.
