Guillermo Daniel Rodríguez is a Uruguayan defender who represents Torino F.C. He was born on March 21, 1984 in Montevideo, the capital of Uruguay.
Guillermo spent an early part of his career at youth level with Danubio. He was quickly given a first-team place but the centre-half didn`t manage to make the most of his chances and therefore was loaned out to Atlas in 2004. During his loan spell in Mexico, Rodríguez appeared in 29 matches and netted four goals. In 2006 he moved to France where he spent a season on loan at Lens. There he earned only two first-team appearances.
The Uruguayan defender took the next step in his career when in the summer of 2006 he moved to the Argentinian top-flight club Independiente. Over the next three years the central defender was a solid presence at the back. Rodríguez played every minute of every league game during his time at the club. From 2006 to 2009 the centre-back made 91 appearances and scored one goal for Independiente.
He also defended the colours of Peñarol before joining Cesena in 2011. During the 2011/2012 campaign, Rodríguez was a mainstay in the club`s defense. After Cesena`s relegation from the Seria A in 2012, he penned a contract with Torino.
Since 2004 the footballer has been part of Uruguay national set-up.
