Guram Kashia is a centre back of Vitesse. He was born on 4 July 1987 in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Guram’s career took off in the academy of local Dinamo Tbilisi, where he made encouraging display and was regarded as a promising back. The footballer could operate both in the centre and on the right flank.
Kashia made his professional start in Dinamo-2 Tbilisi and penned a five-year contract in 2003. The player made 54 appearances and netted one goal during five years. From 2006, Guram began to perform for the main team of the club and fired 12 goals in 91 matches for Dinamo till 2010.
Due to his stellar display, the footballer drew the attention of Dutch side Vitesse, which secured his services till the summer 2010. The transfer was a success, because Kashia took part in 45 games and went on to net five times during two years and a half. His contract was extended, because Guram is the pivot of the team and its captain.
From 2007 till 2009, the player was capped ten times and contributed two goals for the Georgia national U-21 team. In 2009 Kashia received his first call-up to the full national squad and made 16 appearances for it as of October 2012.
