Guyon Fernandez is a striker of Feyenoord. He was born on 18 April 1986 in The Hague, Netherlands.
Guyon’s youth career took off in local Graaf Willem II, where he did not stay for long before moving first to Quick, then to the academy of ADO Den Haag.
The promising striker showed confident performance in the matches for various youth teams of the club, being under the guidance of the coaching staff that was sure he would have bright future.
In 2007 ADO Den Haag decided to pen a professional contract with the footballer. During the 2007/2008 season, Fernandez made his début in the Eredivisie and featured in 11 games for the club, but managed to find the net only once. Unfortunately, the management was disappointed with Guyon’s results and decided to rescind his contract.
In 2008 the footballer transferred to Excelsior, which is often bouncing between the Eredivisie and the Eerste Divisie. Fernandez occasionally came on the field in the starting line-up, but sat on the substitutes’ bench, when he was not fit enough. The player made 67 appearances and amassed 27 goals for the club during three years.
In 2011 Rotterdam side Feyenoord sealed a deal with the striker, counting on him mainly as on a substitute, but Guyon had to be ready to replace any striker at any moment. The footballer took part in 28 games and fired seven goals for the club during two years.
Fernandez was loaned to Zwolle for the season 2013/2014.
