György Garics. Biography

György Garics is a right full back for Bologna. He was born on 8 March 1984 in Szombathely, Hungary.

György entered Haladás VSE youth system in the early childhood. From 1998 to 2002 Garics played for Rapid Vienna youth team.

György Garics began his professional career at Rapid. From 2002 to 2006 György made 81 appearances and scored 1 goal for Rapid. In 2006 Garics was purchased by Serie A side Napoli and by 2008 he made 37 appearances and 1 scored goal.

In 2008 the Hungarian defender signed for Atalanta and successfully performed for the club until 2010, totaling of 65 matches and 1 goal.

In August 2010 György was sold to Bologna for €3 million. The 2010/11 season was plagued with failures though. György suffered an injury and had to skip almost the entire debut season at Bologna. At present Garics continues to play for Bologna with a total of 33 matches and 1 goal.

In 2005 György Garics played for Austria U-21 with a total of 25 caps and 2 goals. Since 2006 Garics is called up to represent Austria, totaling 25 appearances and 1 goal so far.
