Hal Robson-Kanu

Hal Robson-Kanu is a forward of Reading. He was born on 21 May 1989 in Acton, England.

Hal graduated to the main team of Reading in 2007 and penned a long-term contract. Since then, the footballer has been performing for the club and left it only twice, because the management decided to send him on loan.

His first loan spell came in 2008, when Robson-Kanu joined Southend United. The forward spent a half of the season there, made 22 appearances and scored five goals. Later Hal managed to complete a six-month loan move to Swindon Town and his spell in the new club was very fruitful. The head coach trusted the footballer and let him on the pitch in the starting XI, where the forward took part in 20 games and netted four goals.

Robson-Kanu returned to Reading after his loan contract expired. The head coach of his parent club watched the footballer’s progress and considered an opportunity to make him a regular. Hal corresponded to that level and the manager decided to give him more playing time by letting the forward on the field as a substitute and as a starting team player. Robson-Kanu made about 70 appearances and fired ten goals for the club till the summer 2012.

From 2007 till 2009, Hal was capped three times for the England national U-19 and U-20 squads. In 2010 he featured in four games and contributed two goals for the Wales national U-21 team. From 2010 the footballer made seven appearances for the full national squad.
