Hamit Altintop is a Turkish midfielder who plays for Galatasaray and Turkey national team.
Hamit was born in Gelsenkirchen and made his first football steps at DJK Schwarz-Weiß Gelsenkirchen-Süd e.V. and later at DJK TuS 1910 Rotthausen. In 1997 Hamit joined SG Wattenscheid 09 junior team where he ascended to the main squad in 3 years.
After long spells with Schalke 04 and Bayern Munich Hamit joined Real Madrid team in the spring of 2011 and on March 30 of the same year he was the national team’s captain in the match versus Austria. All in all, Hamit played more than 50 matches for the national team.
On September 27, 2011, after a long absence due to an injury Hamit was on the pitch for Real Madrid in the match versus Ajax (Hamit’s club won 3-0).
He didn't manage to keep his place in the royal club and in the summer 2012 signed a deal with Turkish champions Galatasaray.
