Hao Junmin is a Chinese midfielder currently playing for the Chinese Super League side Shandong Luneng. He was born on 24 March 1987 in Wuhan, China.
Hao began to play professional football at Tianjin Teda in 2004. He shortly cemented his place as a regular in the starting eleven as he helped his side to finish fourth in the league in the 2005 season. Thanks to his outstanding performances for the team, Junmin was named the Chinese Football Association Young Player of the Year in 2006 and 2007. He also helped Tianjin Teda to make their first run into the AFC Champions League in the 2008 season.
In the 2010/11 campaign, Junmin moved to the German Bundesliga side Schalke 04. It’s a tidbit that he became the first Chinese footballer in the club’s history. He was an instrumental player for Schalke in their 2010/11 DFB-Pokal victory. In the summer 2011, Junmin returned to China where he signed for Shandong Luneng and plays there today.
Hao Junmin was an international for China at various age levels. He won a full cap in a 2005 East Asian Cup match against Japan on 3 August 2005.
