Hassan Yebda is a French football player of Algerian origin playing for Granada CF on a position of a central midfielder.
Hassan started playing football and received his primary education in his native town of Alforville. By the age of 14 he attended a preparatory course of the Auxerre football club. When he turned 17 he was transferred to the main squad but the youngster didn´t manage to overcome the competition for the place in the squad and was mainly employed in the reserve team. In January 2006 he was loaned to Laval and by the end of January 2007 it was officially announced that Auxerre broke the agreement with the Frenchman.
Right after that Yebda signed a year-and-a-half contract with Le Mans where he made his debut on February 17, 2007 appearing in a fixture against Sochaux. Sometime later he joined the reserve team and soon was promoted back to the senior squad.
In late May 2008 Yebda acquired a status of a free agent and soon signed a 4-year agreement with Benfica where he easily won a place in the starting eleven which led to the Player of the Month award in September. In winter 2009 Yebda scored his first goal for the Portuguese team, an equalizer against Benfica´s rivals Porto.
In September 2009 Yebda was loaned by Portsmouth and soon this deal started to bring profit. The player scored his first goal for Portsmouth in October of the same year hitting the back of the net against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The club earned its first victory during the season owing to this shot. Also Yebda reached the final of the FA Cup where the southerners lost to Chelsea FC in the decisive match. Yebda played 20 games during the season 15 of which were in the Premier League.
As the season was finished the Frenchman returned to Benfica. In August 27, 2010 he was transferred to an Italian club Napoli on a one-year loan. On August 22, 2011 the midfielder left Benfica to join a Spanish side Granada on a 3-year deal. The player made only 11 appearances for the Andalusian side that season.
Hassan is a regular man in the Algerian national squad regardless the face that he played for the French youth national team. Since 2009 he made 19 appearances in which he scored 2 goals.
