Hu Jun is a Chinese midfielder, born on 24 January 1985 in Qingdao, China.
In 2000 Hu passed the trial to join the youth football academy of FC Qingdao Jonoon. During the trial he managed to demonstrate non-trivial natural talent and showed good results in special tests. The academy’s staff was impressed with the potential candidate and accepted the youth talent’s application to join the institution.
Hu spent six years with the academy, mastering his skills and gaining playing experience needed to shine at the professional level. The footballer’s play was highly rated by his coaches, which was a clear indicator that the youngster was on the right way. At the beginning of 2007 the midfielder finally gave a start to the professional stage of his professional career, signing his first senior contract with the club.
The player’s debut happened on 4 May 2005 during a narrow 1-0 loss against FC Inter Shanghai. Due to the lack of playing experience at the senior level Hu was unable to fight for first-team places with his fellow veteran players and was considered just as a back-up for the first-team squad. Despite such an obscure role, Jun managed to make more than 60 appearances for the club scoring one goal during the first five years of his senior career.
In 2012 the player had a loan spell with a Portuguese club FC Varzim , with which he managed to feature in 4 official matches, helping the club to secure the league title at the end of the season.
