A Portuguese footballer Hugo Filipe da Costa Vieira is a forward of Sporting Braga. He was born on 25 July 1988 in Barcelos.
His junior career started in 2004 with Santa Maria. In 2006, when Hugo graduated from the academy the club’s management offered him a professional contract. The forward took the proposal and clinched into the first eleven. But hardly had he settled in the team, when he was loaned out by Bordeaux B, where he spent a year. Vieira performed for the reserves, making only few appearances as a starter of the temporary squad.
In 2007, Hugo found himself serving loan to Estoril. Over the course of the season he made no appearances at all. In 2009, a contract with Gil Vicente was penned. In total, the forward made 62 appearances and scored 16 goals for the Portuguese club.
In 2012, a new contract was signed with Benfica. Hardly had Hugo officially became the club’s member, when he was sent to Sporting de Gijón and later on to Gil Vicente. In 2013 Vieira signed a permanent deal with Sporting Braga.
