Igor Armaş was born on 14 July 1987 in Moldova. He currently plays a defender for FC Kuban Krasnodar.
At 14 Igor joined the youth ranks of Zimbru Chişinău from his home town and in 2004 the young footballer signed his first senior contract with the club. Igor spent two subsequent seasons with the reserve side, where altogether appeared in 30 matches. In 2007 Armaş was promoted to the first team and having appeared only 6 times during his first season, ended it as the Moldovan National Division runner-up and the Moldovan Cup winner. In 2008 Igor got his regular starting spot in the team and was named the best defender of the Moldovan National Division.
In 2009 the defender left for Sweden and signed a four-year contract with Hammarby. He made a total of 27 appearances for the 2009/10 season with the club.
On January 2010 the player joined FC Kuban Krasnodar for a transfer fee of about €600 thousand and on March 28, he made his debut for the squad against FC Avangard Kursk.
In 2008 he was capped for the first time to the Moldova national football team and subsequently featured in six matches of the FIFA World Cup 2010 qualification campaign.
