Igor Albert Rinck de Camargo, better known as Igor de Camargo, is a player of Belgian-Brazilian origin, who was born on 12 May 1983 in Porto Feliz, Brazil.
When 17, de Camargo joined Estrela FC Porto Feliz. In 2000 Igor moved to Belgium, where he spent a year with KRC Genk youth system and then went to the club’s senior team. During one year loan spell at Beringen-Heusden-Zolder, the footballer scored 10 goals in 32 matches. In 2006 he moved to FC Brussels, where he amassed 14 goals in 28 appearances. In 2007 de Camargo was purchased by Standard Liège and began wearing captain’s armband. On 22 April 2010 he signed a 4-year deal with Borussia Mönchengladbach. The player opened his account with the new club on 2 October 2010 in the match against VfL Wolfsburg and soon scored his debut Bundesliga goal in the match against Bayern Munich. Moreover, in 2011 he became a semi-finalist of the DFB-Pokal. Igor appeared in 44 club’s games and delivered 12 goals, due to which became an undisputed starter for the club. In 2013 Igor played for Hoffenheim on loan.
In February 2009 de Camargo received a call-up to the Belgium national team and debuted against Slovenia. In total he made 9 appearances for the national squad.
