Igor Picuşceac was born in Tiraspol on 27 March 1983. The player has gained his first professional level experience at the biggest Moldovan club Sheriff Tiraspol, where he played from 2001 to 2003. During that stay at the club he scored 1 goal in 12 games, which is not a significant result, considering his role of a forward. In 2003 he moved to FC Tiraspol, the main rival of his first professional club. He spent there 4 years, featuring in 124 fixtures and getting on the scoresheet on 30 occasions.
In 2007 he got back to FC Sheriff and earned his first caps with the Moldova national football team. Igor scored his first goal at international level against the Israel team during a 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
However, he had to wait for two more years in order to earn recognition as a prominent striker. It happened in 2009, when he joined the Chinese club Beijing Hongdeng and scored 14 goals in 22 matches. Soon he was approached by FC Krasnodar, where he played from 2009 to 2012.
In 2012 the footballer joined FC Amkar.
