The Russian center midfielder Igor Semshov was born on April 6, 1978 in Moscow. A graduate of CSKA’s academy, Igor was a part of youth set-up, later stepping up into the main squad.
In 1998 the player moved to Torpedo Moscow and became a key member of the team. As part of Torpedo Semshov became a bronze Russian Cup medalist. In 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005 Igor was titled the best player of the team according to fans’ opinion.
In 2006 Semshov penned a contract with Dynamo Moscow, and played there for 2 seasons. In 2008, the centre midfielder won the third place in the Russian Football Championship. In 2009 Igor was transferred to Zenit St. Petersburg but played there only one season. After the end of the term he returned to Dynamo.
In 2013 the 35-year old joined Krylia Sovetov.
During 1998/1999 Semshov played in the Russia national U-21 football team. Igor was chosen to perform the Russian national football team at the World Cup 2002. He took part in Euro 2004, but was not satisfied with the results. In 2008 the centre midfielder clutched the bronze in the UEFA European Football Championship.
