Iñigo Martínez Berridi is a Spanish footballer and currently he plays for Real Sociedad on the position of a central defender.
He was born in 1991 Ondarroa, Spain, and started his youth playing career in Aurrerá Ondarroa, then he moved to Real Sociedad’s youth team.
The 2009/10 season he played for Real Sociedad reserve team, where made 23 appearances, scoring one goal.
In June 2011 Real Sociedad extended the contract with Martínez until 2015 and in August 2011 he made his debut in La Liga with the first team, earning a full 90-minute cap in the match against Sporting de Gijón. He scored the first league goal in October in a 1-2 defeat to Athletic Bilbao. Real Sociedad secured a 3-2 win over Real Betis thanks to his third goal for the team on November 2011.
Martínez was called up for the Spain under-20, under-21 and under-23 national teams. He took part in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. In the match against Japan, he was ejected for knocking down a Japanese footballer Kensuke Nagai.
