A Nigerian-born Swiss footballer Innocent Emeghara is a forward of Siena. He was born on 27 May 1989 in Lagos, Nigeria.
In 2002, the football player got to the academy of Toss, where he spent a year of his youth career. The next year he got through preliminary tests and was accepted to Winterthur. He was carving for his professional start during the years he spent in the youth system and, finally, his professional career took off.
In the summer 2006, he was noticed by the scouts of Zürich 2 who offered him his first contract. From now on, Innocent became a substitute player of the team. The head coach tried to give every player a chance to improve his game. Emeghara began to make occasional appearances and, by the end of the spell, he managed to score 16 goals in 47 games.
In 2009, he returned to his boyhood club Winterthur. During his stay with the club he had every opportunity to booster his performance. Innocent got on in one of the seasons: he scored 17 goals in 28 matches.
After such a brilliant season, the player immediately got under the wave of luck, because the management of Grasshoppers was interested in him. This club was famous as the holder of the records for winning the most national championship titles and as the winner in many Swiss Cup tournaments. Innocent took the offer and became a part of the team for a season. During the spell, he was let 33 times on the field and netted 10 goals.
The Nigerian footballer ended his Grasshoppers spell with Lorient move. He was offered a lucrative contract, which he penned and started his trainings with the club. In 2013 the Swiss player signed a contract with Siena but was loaned to Livorno for the season 2013/2014.
Emeghara has been capped for the U-21 team since 2010 and has presented Switzerland since 2011.
