Ion Ansotegi Gorostola is a Spanish football player. He was born in 1982 in Berriatua, Spain, and currently he plays for Real Sociedad as a central defender.
Ansotegi started his professional playing career in Eibar reserve team. He joined the first team in 2002 but immediately moved to Barakaldo on a season-long loan.
In 2003 he joined Real Sociedad’s reserves and made his La Liga debut for the first team on 22 January 2006. Thas match against Athletic Bilbao ended a 3-3 draw.
In the 2009/10 season Ansotegi helped the club to reach the top division after a three-year absence, appearing in 40 games and scoring 4 goals.
He appeared in 32 games during the 2010/11 campaign and Real Sociedad reminded in La Liga but the signing of Vadim Demidov and Iñigo Martínez failed Ansotegi out of favor.
