Isaac Okoronkwo was born on 1 May 1978 in Nbene, Nigeria. Okoronkwo mostly plays as a centre back, but also can play as the left and right midfielder. Isaac started playing football in the youth teams of Julius Berger and FC Lagos in Nigeria. At the beginning of his professional career the footballer played for Enyimba International FC, Julius Berger, Iwuanyanwu Nationale and Al-Rayyan.
During one and a half seasons Isaac performed for FC Sheriff Tiraspol. The player spent three seasons playing for FC Shakhtar Donetsk. Isaac's team became the Ukrainian champion and twice the silver medalist. Isaac also won the Ukrainian Cup in 2001 as part of the squad.
In 2003, Isaac played for FC Wolverhampton Wanderers, the UK. The footballer performed only in 7 matches in the league. The team was knocked out of Premier League, and the Nigerian player left the club.
In the 2005 season, Isaac played for FC Alania Vladikavkaz, but at the end of the season the club was relegated from the top division. From 2005 to 2009, the footballer performed for FC Moscow.
In 2010, Okoronkwo signed a one-year contract with FC Rostov. His successful performance contributed to the contract extension for another two and a half years.
The player appeared on the pitch with the Nigeria national team in the Olympic Games in 2000. From 2001 to 2007, Isaac Okoronkwo played for the Nigeria national team. During 2002 World Cup he performed in three matches. Nigeria finished 3rd at the African Cup of Nations twice.
