Ishmael Yartey is a Ghanaian forward currently playing for Sochaux in the Ligue 1. He was born on 11 January 1990 in Swedru, Ghana.
Ishmael began his football grooming with his native All Blacks before he joined the youth system of giant Portuguese club Benfica in 2007. Yartey was called into the first team of the club in 2009 but hasn’t played a single official match for them during a three-year stint. During three seasons Yartey played on loan at such clubs as Beira-Mar, Fatima and Swiss side Servette. He helped Beira-Mar to win Liga de Honra in the 2009/10 campaign. In 2012, Yartey moved to France where у joined Sochaux in the Ligue 1 and plays for the club today.
In 2007, Ishmael Yartey earned 7 caps to the Ghana national U17 team. He was part of the squad who finished fourth in the 2007 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
