Iván Marcano is a defender for Rubin Kazan. He was born on 23 June, 1987 in Santander, Spain.
Marcano is a graduate of Racing Santander football academy, which he entered 1997. Iván started playing for Racing first squad in 2007, but due to serious injury had to stay idle for three months. After rehabilitation Iván became the key defender at Racing in the 2008/09 season, scoring 2 goals in 36 appearances.
In July 2009 Marcano was transferred to Villarreal. At first Marcano was a regular, but after a few egregious errors on his position he had to warm the bench. As part of The Yellow Submarine Iván played 16 matches.
The Spanish defender was loaned twice. The first time, in 2010, Villarreal sent him to Getafe, where he managed to score 1 goal in 29 starts. The second time Villarreal loaned Iván to Olympiacos for the 2011/12 season. In June 2012 Marcano was purchased by Rubin Kazan for €5 million. At the beginning of 2014 Marcano was loaned to Greek champions Olympiacos.
In 2009 Iván Marcano earned 1 cap for Spain U-21.
