A Paraguayan footballer Iván Rodrigo Piris acts as a right back of Deportivo Maldonado. Piris was born on 10 March 1989.
The footballer’s professional career started out in 2008, when he signed for Cerro Porteño. Ivan made 41 appearances for the club producing an impressive performance during the 2011 Copa Libertadores. Very soon the player was noticed by far more famous clubs.
In 2011, a contract for a fee of €2 million was signed with Deportivo Maldonado. But hardly had Rodrigo became the official club’s member, when he was sent on a year-long loan to São Paulo. He managed a successful season featuring in 20 matches for the temporary team.
In 2012, a temporary deal was finalized with Roma. The footballer joined the Italian side and started to make occasional appearances for the team. In the season 2013/2014 Maldonado was loaned to Sporting Lisbon.
Piris defended the Paraguay national youth team at U-20 level. The player won the Paraguayan League 2009-A whilst performing for the team. He earned 15 calls for the squad. In 2011, Ivan gained the first cap for the country’s full side. He was the part of the squad that became the runner-up at the 2011 Copa America.
