Ivan Santini was born on May, 21 1989 in Zadar, Croatia.
Santini started his career as a football player in his native town Zadar for the same-name club. He played in all junior teams there, and after that he joined a youth team of NK Inter Zaprešić. This club is based only 17 kilometers away from Zagreb. Ivan played there as a junior till the end of the year, and then trained several times with the basic squad. At the beginning of January 2007 Santini started playing for the Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg, where, alongside with all the activities in team, he trained in the Academy of Sports. In the following one and a half year he fielded in 17 matches for U-19 team scoring 7 goals.
In July 2008 Santini left Salzburg and became unemployed till February 2009. In the middle of February the player moved to Ingolstadt 04. There he wasn’t a big success as he was fielded only 10 times. However, his debut took place in the match for this very club, and the footballer kicked his first goal in Bundesliga during his first appearance for Ingolstadt, when he came on field in the second half as a substitute. After leaving Ingolstadt in December 2008 he played a trial match for Standard Liège. However, he didn’t manage to impress the management, and so he had to return to Zadar. Yet, in 2012 the player was lucky to get loaned to SC Freiburg after 64 games he fielded in for first eleven of NK Zadar.
