Ivica Olić is a Croatian footballer, a forward of VfL Wolfsburg.
Ivica was born and raised in the village of Davor near Slavonski Brod, Croatia. He made his debut in 1996 playing for NK Marsonia for two seasons.
In 1998 a young footballer signed a contract with Hertha BSC but in a year came back to NK Marsonia. In the 2000/01 season he appeared in 42 games scoring 21 goals for the club.
In 2001 Olić moved to NK Zagreb. During the season he appeared in 28 games and fired 21 balls in the opponents’ goal leading the club to the Croatian Championship win. Next season, playing for GNK Dinamo Zagreb by this time, Ivica Olić became the top scorer of Croatian championship.
The Croatian footballer also played for PFC CSKA Moscow for 4 years where he scored 35 goals in 78 appearances. With PFC CSKA Moscow he won the Russian Cup and the Russian Super Cup twice, and in 2005 Ivica Olić became the UEFA Cup winner. In January 2007 a renowned forward moved to Hamburger SV and then, in summer 2009, to FC Bayern Munich where he played until 2012. With the Reds he scored 5 goals in the 2010 UEFA Champions League.
On 25 April 2012 the Bavarians reached the UEFA Champions League final. On the following day Ivica Olić announced that the next season for him would start at VfL Wolfsburg.
Since 2002 Ivica has represented Croatia national team.
