Jack Colback is a midfielder, born on 24 October 1989 in Killingworth, England.
In 1998 Colback became a trainee of Sunderland academy, where he spent his entire youth career. Jack began to perform for the U-11 squad of the club, where he gained his first playing experience. The footballer raised his professional level year after year and managed to make encouraging display at the position of a centre midfielder. Due to his mobility and good vision of the field, the young Englishman always got enough playing time, usually coming on the field in the starting line-up. Colback was a trainee of the youth system during ten years before getting fully prepared for the senior start.
In 2008 Jack received an official invitation to the main team and penned his first contract, thus becoming a professional player of the ‘Black Cats’. The midfielder managed to feature in several matches during his début season and showed his massive talent. However, the following year, the footballer moved on a season-long loan deal to Ipswich Town, which was later extended for another year. During that time, Colback managed to reveal his potential and his performances became more solid and efficient due to regular appearances for the temporary team. Jack took part in 50 games and fired four goals for Ipswich Town during his spell.
After returning to his parent Sunderland, the footballer performed for the club during the 2011/2012 season, which turned out to be rather fruitful for the midfielder.
In the summer 2014 Colback moved to rivals, Newcastle United.
In 2009 Colback was capped for the England national U-20 squad.
