Jack Cork is a midfielder of Southampton. He was born on 25 June 1989 in Carshalton, England.
In 1998 Jack joined the academy of Chelsea, where he was groomed during eight years. Cork used that time to get maximum knowledge and skills he uses up till now. The footballer cruised through almost all youth teams of the club and managed to earn an invitation to the main team of ‘The Blues’ in 2006.
In 2006 Jack penned his first senior contract, but the management decided to send him on loan to Bournemouth for his début season so that the young midfielder could gain playing experience. After making seven appearances for the temporary club, Cork continued his loan performance in Scunthorpe United and scored two goals in 34 games for ‘The Iron’. That successful season was noticed by the management of his parent Chelsea, which decided to agree a six-month loan deal with Southampton in 2008, where the footballer featured in 23 fixtures.
At the beginning of 2009, the midfielder changed his temporary club to Watford. Jack took part in 19 games for the team till the summer 2009. From the summer 2009 till the summer 2011, Cork performed on loan at Coventry City and Burnley, where he made total 72 appearances and netted four goals.
In the summer 2011, the footballer ended his spell with Chelsea, where he did not manage to take part in any games, and moved to Southampton. The young Englishman’s first season was very successful for him, because he managed to feature in every match of the new club and helped it to gain the promotion to the Premier League.
From 2005 till 2011, Jack was capped 40 times for the England national U-16, U-17, U-18, U-19, U-20 and U-21 squads. In 2012, the footballer was called up to the Team GB squad for the 2012 Summer Olympics.
