Jacob Mulenga is a striker of Utrecht. He was born on 12 February 1984 in Kitwe, Zambia.
Jacob began his career in local Afrisport F.C., where he trained in the academy and performed for various youth teams of the club. In 2002, the management offered Mulenga to pen a two-year contract, and the footballer accepted the offer without hesitations. The player showed his best goalscoring qualities and found the net 32 times during the first two seasons, which became an absolute record of his career.
In 2004, Jacob completed a move to French side Châteauroux, as he did not want to lose a chance to perform in Europe. In the summer 2004, the footballer sealed a five-year deal and was ready to make a stunning display. Mulenga made 109 appearances and fired 28 goals for the club during three seasons.
In 2007, the striker went on loan to RC Strasbourg, where he came on the pitch rather often, but failed to show his scoring flair in the temporary club, as he netted only one goal in 22 fixtures during his spell.
In 2009, Dutch side Utrecht secured Jacob’s services on permanent basis and was lucky to see him score 18 times in 49 matches as of November 2012.
From 2004, the footballer has been capped 31 times and contributed six goals for the Zambia national team.
