Jaime Gavilán Martínez is a Spaniard born in Valencia. He takes left-flank position as he currently plays for Getafe CF.
Aged 17 he made his first professional appearance. That was a La Liga match with Valencia encountering Real Valladolid at the away ground. In the summer of 2004 Jaime was sent on loan to Tenerife in the second division. Right after his return to Valencia the player was loaned for a season by Getafe. Having played in 32 games he scored five times.
Such results made the bosses of the ‘Bats’ give the player a chance in their squad. However the player delivered another mediocre season interrupted by an injury that kept him out for 6 months. The following campaign was spent with 12 appearances one of which in the starting eleven. After that Jaime went on loan to Getafe again. There he spent the second half of the season 2007/08 enjoying his position in the main squad and being a frequent starter.
The footballer decided not to return to Valencia for the following season 2008/09 where he suffered from constant lack of playing time. As a result Jaime signed permanently with Getafe. Since 2008 Gavilán spent 94 games with 6 goals for the side falling out for several times due to injuries.
Gavilán has a successful record of playing for the youth national teams being involved in many ranks. He won the UEFA European championship with U-16 and U-19 teams in 2001 and 2004 respectively also being a runner-up in the U-20 World Cup 2003.
