Jake Buxton is a defender of Derby County. He was born on 4 March 1985 in Sutton-in-Ashfield, England.
Jake started his professional career in Mansfield Town, where he spent six years. The footballer did not get a place in the starting line-up at once, because it took him some time to adapt to the senior level. In 2003, Buxton was sent on a six-month loan to Alfreton Town and made five appearances for the temporary team before returning to his parent club. The head coach began to give the defender more chances to come on the pitch and saw him progress year by year. Jake took part in 151 fixtures and netted five goals for Mansfield Town from 2002 till 2008.
In 2008, the footballer transferred to Burton Albion and gained the manager’s confidence during the pre-season training. Buxton clinched a place in the starting XI and featured in 40 games for the new team during the 2008/2009 season.
In 2009, the defender sealed a deal with Derby County, where he continues to perform up till now. Jake made 56 appearances and fired four goals for ‘The Rams’ as of December 2012.
