James Grant Chester is a back of Hull City. He was born on 23 January 1989 in Warrington, England.
James joined the academy of Manchester United in 2005, when he was noticed by the club’s scouts and successfully passed a trial. The footballer trained to become a centre back during two years and perfected his skills in order to start the performance at a professional level.
In 2007, Chester penned a four-year contract with ‘The Red Devils’, but the coaching staff failed to find a spot in the first squad for him and sent the back on loan to Peterborough United in 2009. James took part in five fixtures during six months and sealed a temporary deal with Plymouth Argyle, where he made three appearances during the first half of the 2009/2010 season. In 2010, the footballer went on loan to Carlisle United and netted two goals in 18 matches for the club during his spell.
In January 2011, Chester transferred to Hull City and put pen to paper of a long-term contract. The head coach of the new team gave the back an opportunity to come on the pitch in the starting line-up and saw him score four goals in 86 games for ‘The Tigers’ as of December 2012.
