James Collins is a back of West Ham United. He was born on 23 August 1983 in Newport, Wales.
In 2000 James became a professional player of Cardiff City and penned his first contract with the club. The footballer was given the role of a sub, but he occasionally helped the head coach by coming on the field in the starting team, when other regular footballers were unable to do that. During five years of performance for Cardiff City, Collins made 66 appearances and netted three goals.
In 2005 Premier League side West Ham United took an interest in the back and sealed a four-year deal with him after the parties agreed the terms of his transfer. James sat on the substitutes’ bench of the club during his spell, but managed to fire two goals in 54 fixtures for ‘The Hammers’.
In 2009 English side Aston Villa made a tempting offer to Collins, who accepted the offer and completed a move to the new club. The footballer became a regular at the centre back position and found the net five times in 91 matches for ‘The Villans’ during three years.
In August 2012, James returned to West Ham United and put pen to paper of a four-year deal.
In 2001 the footballer was capped three times for the Wales national U-19 team. From 2002 till 2004, he took part in ten games for the Wales national U-20 and U-21 squads. In 2004 Collins received his first call-up to the full national team and contributed two goals in about 40 appearances for it up till now.
