James Forrest is a Scottish international, currently playing for Celtic as a winger. He was born in 1991 in Prestwick, Scotland, and in 2003 joined Celtic youth academy. He came through the youth ranks and joined the first team in the summer of 2009, signing a four-year deal. His debut came on 1 May 2010 in the match against Motherwell and in July he featured in the Champions League qualifying match.
In August 2010, September 2011 and November 2011 Forrest was named awarded the SPL Young Player of the Month. He is the team’s key player and in January 2011 he was offered a new five-year contract. He had proved himself a promising player and in 2011/12 was named Young Player of the Year in Scotland.
James Forrest represented Scotland at U16, U19 and U21 levels. In May 2011 he was invited to the senior squad. He earned his first cap for senior team on 29 May 2011 and that was the game against the Republic of Ireland.
