James Perch is an English footballer of Wigan Athletic. He can play both as a back and midfielder.
On 5 July 2010, Perch signed a four-year contract with Newcastle United for an undisclosed fee and was given the number 14 shirt. He made his debut on 16 August in the match against ‘The Red Devils’. By 18 September 2010, James was a record holder of the English Premier League for five yellow cards in five games for the new club. Ill fate continued to haunt Perch after the temporary disqualification, when he scored an own goal and the winner for Stoke City that came to St James' Park. James stayed in the Newcastle first team even after that event, but the player lost his place as a regular when he failed to stop Wigan’s footballer Charles N'Zogbia that scored a double.
In the summer 2013 Perch moved to a Championship side Wigan Athletic.
