Jamie Vardy is a striker of Leicester City, who is also capable of operating at the position of a winger. He was born on 11 January 1987 in Sheffield, England.
In 2002, Jamie started to play football in Sheffield Wednesday, from where he moved to Stocksbridge Park Steels the following year. The striker trained in the academy of the club during four years and managed to develop into a full-grown footballer, who was ready for the senior action.
In 2007, Vardy joined the main team of Stocksbridge Park Steels and penned his first professional contract. The head coach decided to give the player an opportunity to show his skills and let him on the pitch in the starting line-up for a number of matches. The footballer lived up to the manager’s expectations and proved he deserved a regular place. Jamie amassed 66 goals in 107 fixtures for the club during three years due to his pace and imperious form.
In 2010, the striker completed a move to FC Halifax Town and spent one year with the new team. Vardy confirmed his reputation of a talented goalscorer by firing 29 goals in 41 games during the season. The footballer’s stellar performance drew the attention of various clubs, including Fleetwood Town, which secured Jamie’s services in 2011. The player made 36 appearances and found the net 31 times for the team during one year.
In the summer 2012, Vardy sealed a deal with English side Leicester City and scored three goals in 15 matches for the new club as of November 2012.
