Jamie Ward is a forward of Derby County. He was born on 12 May 1986 in Solihull, England.
Jamie’s professional career took off in Aston Villa after the footballer spent several years in the academy of the club. Ward failed to come on the pitch for the team during his début season and went on loan to Stockport County, where he made nine appearances and netted one goal till the end of the 2005/2006 season.
In 2006, the forward transferred to Torquay United and fired nine goals in 25 fixtures for the club during one year. The following season, Jamie sealed a deal with Chesterfield and amassed 29 goals in 67 games during two years.
In 2009, the footballer completed a move to Sheffield United, where he featured in 63 matches and found the net nine times during one season and a half. In January 2011, Ward was sent on loan to Derby County, which decided to secure the forward’s services after his temporary contract expired. Jamie made 58 appearances and scored 13 goals for ‘The Rams’ as of December 2012 (including his loan spell).
From 2006 till 2008, the footballer took part in seven games and contributed one goal for the Northern Ireland national U-21 squad. From 2011, Ward has been capped one time for the full national team.
