Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker, born on 23 September 1984 in Schleswig, began playing football at TSV Bollingstedt. In 1998 he joined Bayer Leverkusen sports academy.
In 2002, he signed his first professional contract with the team, but initially played exclusively for the reserves, amassing 69 matches. In two years, Callsen-Bracker brought out his full potential and regularly appeared in the first team. His first Bundesliga appearance took place on 10 April 2004 in a home match against Kaiserslautern.
In 2008, Jan-Ingver became a player of Borussia Mönchengladbach. During his two-year spell at the top club he played 21 games for the reserves and appeared in 11 matches as part of the first team.
In 2011, Callsen-Bracker moved to Augsburg where he has already made more than 40 appearances (as of September 2012).
Between 2004 and 2006, Jan-Ingwer Callsen-Bracker was capped to the Germany U-21 national team amassing 5 international matches.
