A Slovenian footballer Jan Oblak is as a goalkeeper, born on 7 January 1993.
In 1999 he entered the academy of Ločan, where he started his junior career. He performed for various youth teams and earned reputation of a very promising young player. In 2003, Jan joined the youth department of Olimpija Ljubljana, where he spent the last six years of his junior career. In 2009, Oblak got promotion to the first team. He was still 16, when he became the squad’s constant goalkeeper, appearing 34 times during his debut season. In the summer 2010, the footballer opted to join Benfica. He was sent on loan to Beira-Mar immediately after the contract had been penned. Jan spent half a year with the temporary club, featuring in 2 games only. In January 2011, Oblak was loaned out by Olhanense, but over the short period of time spent with the team the footballer made no appearances at all. The 2011/2012 season passed serving loan to União Leiria. There Oblak got an opportunity to feature in more than 20 club’s fixtures. In 2012, a loan move to Rio Ave happened.
In the summer 2014 Oblak was offered to join Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.
In 2009, Jan got his first call for the Slovenia U-21 team. In 2012, he became one of the representatives of the Slovenia national squad.
