The German footballer Jan Rosenthal was born on April, 7 1986 in Sulingen. When he was six, he began to train in SV Staffhorst. He spent 9 years there and in 2000 was signed by Hannover 96. At that time the boy was also getting education at a local grammar school.
In the spring 2005 Jan started training with the main squad of Hannover. He managed to become one of the first eleven when he was only 18. Soon he suffered an injury, but recovered from it in a month and was able to finish the season. Several times Jan was sent to play for the reserve team to gain some playing practice, but after that he returned to the main squad. His debut took place on August, 13 2006 in the match against Werder Bremen where he came as a substitute. When he for the first time started the match in the main squad, he kicked his first Bundesliga goal. Besides, soon he prolonged the contract till 2010. In his first year for the team the player kicked six goals. In all he featured in 80 games and scored 11 goals for the club.
On June, 11 2011 Jan tried on a shirt of SC Freiburg and was capped in 58 matches with 11 goals scored.
Since 2013 Rosenthal has represented Eintracht Frankfurt.
To the extent of his international career Jan only once came on field in the match for the German national U-20 team. On January, 6 2007 he was fielded in the match against Scotland which was his first match for the national U-21 team, and soon he was trusted a captain’s armband. During two seasons he took part in 17 matches and scored two goals for this team.
