A Spanish footballer Alejandro Castro Fernández, also known as Jandro, performs as an attacking midfielder for Girona FC. Alejandro was born on 27 February 1979 in Mieres, Asturias.
Jandro’s last years of his junior career passed at the academy of Valencia, where he finished his formation and got ready to perform on a senior level. In 1997, the midfielder joined the B team of Valencia. He spent four years defending the reserves. In total, he netted 50 goals in 132 games for the squad. In 1999, the player got his first opportunity on the club’s first team. Altogether, Alejandro made three appearances for Valencia. In 2000, the footballer was loaned out by Numancia.
In 2002, Jandro joined Celta. His debut season was lined with several appearances made. In 2003, he served a loan to Albacete. The player appeared 21 times and scored seven goals for the temporary side. After coming back to his parent club, Alejandro continued to make occasional appearances both as a substitute member and as a member of the starting eleven. In total, he made 63 appearances and racked up three goals during the spell.
In 2007, a move to Gimnàstic happened and Jandro started a new wonderful stage in his career. He immediately established himself as a member of the first XI. The head coach considered him to be a very reliable player and gave him every chance to reveal his talent. In 2009, the midfielder was scouted by Elche. He agreed on a year-long deal and joined the squad. The 2009/2010 season was lined with three balls racked up in three fixtures. In 2010, Alejandro joined Girona from the Spanish second division. He appeared 80 times during the first two seasons.
On international level, Jandro used to play for the Spain national youth team at U-18 and U-20 levels. In total, he made three appearances for the squad.
