Jason Shackell is a defender and a captain of Burnley. He was born on 27 September 1983 in Stevenage, England.
Jason’s career took off in Norwich City, when the footballer penned his first senior five-year contract with the club. However, he had to watch matches of ‘The Canaries’ from the substitutes’ bench and make occasional appearances on the pitch. By his third season with the team, Shackell managed to clinch a regular place in the starting eleven and took his tally to three goals in 119 fixtures by 2008.
In 2008, the defender transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers and took part in 12 games for the new club before completing a loan move to Norwich City in 2009. Jason featured in 14 matches for the team and sealed a temporary deal with Doncaster Rovers, where he netted one goal in 21 fixtures during one season.
In the summer 2010, the footballer put pen to paper of a contract with Barnsley and fired three goals in 44 games for the team during one year. In 2011, Shackell signed for Derby County and found the net one time in 46 matches before his services had been secured by Burnley, where the defender made 25 appearances as of January 2013.
