Javier Paredes Arango currently plays for Real Zaragoza as a left defender. A Spanish footballer was born in 1982 in Oviedo, Spain, and started youth playing career in his hometown club Real Oviedo. He went on his senior career playing for the first team until he joined Real Madrid’s reserves.
The season 2005/06 Paredes spent with Getafe CF. In August he made his first La Liga appearance in the match against Real Sociedad that ended 2-0 win. During his first season in the club he made seven appearances and the following season there he was a regular starter.
In 2007 Paredes signed a five-year contract with Real Zaragoza. He began as Juanfran’s backup and became the first choice by the end of the season, though Aragon’s team suffered relegation. The following season he was the first-choice and helped his team to promote to La Liga.
In the 2009/10 season Paredes featured in 20 La Liga matches being used as a left-back. Since summer he was in conflict with the coach, José Aurelio Gay that led to suspension from the club until Gay was sacked.
