Javier Pinola was born on February 24, 1983 in Olivos, Argentina and besides the Argentine citizenship he has also got an Italian one.
Huracán de Tres Arroyos was the club, where Javier made his first steps in football. In 2000, he left it for CA Chacarita Juniors and in 2002 transferred to Atlético Madrid where during his season and a half he got only 2 appearances for the first squad. In 2004, Pinola was loaned to Racing Club, basing in his native Argentina. But he did not stay in his homeland for long as in 2005 he was signed for FC Nürnberg. Altogether in this squad he has spent 8 seasons, appeared 187 times, scored 6 goals and what is more, he has become the local fans’ real favourite. In 2007, one of the German sport magazines named him the best defender of the season.
In 2007, the defender got a cap for the Argentina national football team, and played in the friendly match with Algeria.
