Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is a forward of Bristol City. He was born on 27 December 1990 in Forest Gate, London, England.
In 1998, Jay was admitted to the academy of Arsenal. It took him ten years to get ready for a professional start and get an invitation to the main squad. In 2008, the footballer penned his first senior contract with ‘The Gunners’, but that was nothing more than an attempt of the management to keep the talented player in order to sell him later. In 2009, Emmanuel-Thomas went on loan to Blackpool and netted one goal in 11 fixtures for ‘The Seasiders’ during six months. In 2010, the forward sealed a temporary deal with Doncaster Rovers and fired five goals in 14 matches during his spell. In 2011, Jay completed a loan move to Cardiff City, where he made 14 appearances and found the net two times.
In 2011, the footballer drew the attention of Ipswich Town and was offered to put pen to paper of a permanent contract, which he eventually did in the summer the same year. Emmanuel-Thomas featured in 70 games and chipped in 8 goals for ‘The Tractor Boys’ before moving to Bristol City in July 2013.
From 2007 till 2009, the forward was capped seven times for the England national U-17 and U-19 squads.
