Jay Simpson is an English striker. He was born on 1 December 1988 in Enfield, England.
In 1998, Jay started to train in the academy of Norwich City, but moved to the junior squad of Arsenal in 1999. The footballer spent eight years in the youth system of the club and got ready for a professional start.
In 2007, Simpson penned a senior contract with ‘The Gunners’ and was sent on loan to Millwall at once. The striker made 41 appearances and netted seven goals for the team before returning to his parent Arsenal. In 2009, Jay completed a temporary move to West Bromwich Albion and fired one goal in 13 fixtures for ‘The Baggies’ till the summer 2009, when he was loaned out to Queens Park Rangers. The footballer took part in 39 matches and found the net 12 times for the club during one season.
In the summer 2010, Simpson sealed a deal with Hull City and spent the 2010/2011 season with the new team, but his appearances were rather rare. In the 2011/2012 season, the striker went on loan to Millwall, where he featured in 16 games and chipped in four goals before returning to ‘The Tigers’. Jay took part in 85 fixtures and went on to net 13 times for his parent Hull City by the summer 2013, when he was released form the squad.
Later on Simpson signed for a Thai club Buriram United.
