Jed Steer is a goalkeeper of Aston Villa. He was born on 23 September 1992 in Norwich, England.
In 2003 Jed entered the academy of Norwich City. He got to the U-13 team and trained there during two years before joining the older squad. Steer spent six years in the youth system and managed to develop into a rather promising keeper, who had all chances for becoming a first-choice goalkeeper not only of his club, but of the national team as well.
In 2010 Jed penned a contract with Norwich City and officially became a professional player. He got an opportunity to train with the first team, which brought new experience, knowledge and impressions and helped the young goalkeeper to become more self-confident. In 2011 the club management decided the footballer had to continue his development, but that was possible only if he got more playing practice. That is why Steer was sent on loan to Yeovil Town, where he spent a half of the season. However, 12 appearances were enough for the goalkeeper to glean necessary professional experience and he returned to his parent Norwich City to be a second-choice goalkeeper of the club.
In June 2013 the young goalkeeper switched to another Premier League club Aston Villa.
From 2007 till 2011, Steer was capped 18 times for the England national U-16, U-17 and U-19 teams.
