Jeffrey Leiwakabessy is a Dutch-Indonesian back born on 23 February 1981 in Elst, Netherlands.
Jeffrey’s career took off in the youth team of local Elistha Elst. In 1993, the footballer completed a move to NEC and stayed there till the start of his senior career in 1998. Leiwakabessy made 150 appearances for the club before he finalized a move to German side Alemannia Aachen in 2006. Jeffrey featured in 60 games during two years, which helped him to receive an invitation to promising Cypriot side Anorthosis.
Leiwakabessy took part in 94 matches and found the net three times for the club during his spell. Besides, the back and his new squad managed to make their way through to the 2008 Champions League.
On 4 January 2012, the footballer returned to the Netherlands in order to pen a one-year contract with Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo. In 2013 Leiwakabessy joined an Eredivisie side NEC.
