Jérémie Aliadière is a striker who plays for Lorient.
The player got his football education at the academy of Clairefontaine, which has one of the most prestigious youth systems in France. At the age of 16 he was already a full-grown footballer, who could perform professionally and when Arsenal took an interest in a promising footballer, the latter accepted all the terms of a contract and his senior career took off. Jérémie became famous for scoring the most number of goals in the Youth Cup. In the 2001/2002 season, his debut took place. That was the match against Fulham. On 27 August 2002, his first goal was netted in the game against West Bromwich Albion.
He was awarded an honorary title of the best young talent in League Cup in the 2003/2004 season. Jérémie was sidelined by an injury until February of the 2004/2005 season. The footballer managed to score 8 goals in 5 matches for the team’s reserves and appeared 6 times as a sub for the main squad, after he was back to full fitness. Although his physical condition left much to be desired, the contract with Arsenal was extended up till the summer 2009.
Aliadière served a loan on Scottish club Celtic during the 2005/2006 season. He got a place in the starting line-up and stayed with the team until August 2005, when he came back to London. But he didn’t get much opportunity to come on the field, so another year-long contract was signed. The next club Aliadière acted for was West Ham United. His temporary team managed to get back to the Premier League during the spell. But through another injury, the number of appearances made was only eight. Seven of them were made as a substitute.
Jérémie Aliadière ended his West Ham spell with Wolverhampton Wanderers move. He spent with Wolves the rest of the 2005/2006 season, after which he was welcomed back to Arsenal. Having returned to the parent club, he continued to play in the starting eleven. By 9 January, the player amassed 9 goals in 37 matches for the main team and 25 as a sub. During the transfer window of the same year, Jérémie was allowed to leave the club for Middlesbrough. However, he didn’t manage to move as Robin van Persie sustained an injury. Jeremie had to play for the temporary club for the time being.
Aliadière penned a contract with Middlesbrough in the summer 2007. In October 2007, in the match against Manchester United the striker netted his first goal for the new club. He scored no goals until 15 March, when he was playing against his old club Arsenal. On 23 February 2008, Jérémie Aliadière got a red card. That turned out to be quite a controversial subject.
On 30 June 2010, he rejected an offer to extend his contract. On 13 February 2011, Al Ain, from the United Arab Emirates, stated that Aliadiere had put a pen to paper of contract and became a team’s member officially. Subsequently, the striker dissolved an agreement as (according to his announcement) the management of Al Ain acted extremely unprofessionally. He returned to Arsenal in March 2011.
In the summer 2011, Jeremie Aliadiere agreed on a deal with Lorient from Ligue 1. His debut for the French club happened in a game against Valenciennes, his first goal was contributed in a match with Saint-Étienne. When the spell was coming to an end, the management of Lorient offered him a contract for another three years. It was penned in November 2011.
Jeremie has been capped 7 times and netted one goal for the U-21 team of France.
