Jeroen Veldmate is a defender of Heracles Almelo. He was born on 8 November 1988 in Groningen, Netherlands.
Jeroen’s career took off in local Groningen, where the footballer performed for various junior squads till he was offered to join the main team of the club. Veldmate made his professional début on 28 October 2007 in the away 5-1 loss to NEC Nijmegen. The defender took part only in seven fixtures during two years, and the management decided to send him on loan to Helmond Sport for the 2009/2010 season. Jeroen made his first appearance for the temporary team on 7 August 2009 in the away 0-4 victory over Fortuna Sittard. One month later, on 18 September, the footballer netted his first goal in the 2-2 draw with Eindhoven. Veldmate featured in 29 games and found the net four times for Helmond Sport during his spell. The defender showed superb results and started to come on the pitch for his parent Groningen, but took part only in six fixtures during the season.
On 31 May 2011, Jeroen penned a two-year contract with Sparta Rotterdam and fired six goals in 32 matches for the new club during the 2011/2012 season. In 2012, the footballer sealed a three-year deal with Heracles Almelo.
