Jerome Thomas is a midfielder of Crystal Palace. He was born on 23 March 1983 in Wembley, England.
In 2001 Jerome began his professional career in Arsenal after graduating from its academy, where he spent several years. However, the footballer did not manage to come on the pitch in ‘The Gunners’ kit and was sent on loan to QPR in January 2002. He made four appearances and netted one goal during half of the season; thereby, the club decided to extend Thomas’s loan spell for one year. He took part only in six matches and scored two goals during the following season.
In the summer 2004, Jerome’s career got a second wind, when he transferred to Charlton Athletic and penned a four-year contract with the new club. During the first season, the head coach was trying to receive evidence the footballer had all required skills. After he did, Thomas got to the starting line-up and did not lose that place during three years and a half, featuring in 103 games and kicking seven goals.
In January 2008 the footballer was sent on loan to Portsmouth, where he made only one appearance. However, the temporary club was glad to have him as a reserve player and that is why Thomas was offered a contract on permanent basis. He accepted the offer and performed for the new club from 2008 till 2009, taking part in two games. In the summer 2009, West Bromwich lodged a tempting bid for the player and Portsmouth sold him before the closing of the transfer window. ‘The Baggies’ welcomed Jerome into the team, where he managed to clinch one of key positions.
In 2013 the player was released by the club and joined newly promoted Crystal Palace.
From 2002 till 2003, Thomas was capped two times and contributed one goal for the England national U-21 team.
