Jiang Kun is a Chinese football player who currently performs as a midfielder for Shanghai Shenhua. He was born on August 2, 1979 in Wuhan, China.
Jiang Kun launched his professional career with Bayi Football Team in 1997. He featured for the youth team for some time before stepping into the main squad. The classy midfielder fired 7 goals in 81 league matches for the club. In 2003 the team was disbanded and the player was on the lookout for a new club.
In 2004 he switched to Sichuan Guancheng. Jiang Kun was impressive at the start of the campaign and on May 26, 2004 he notched his first goal. But soon his opportunities for first-time football were limited and he had to leave the club. In 2005 Shanghai United confirmed the signing of the player. The midfielder was near ever present, making 50 starts and scoring 10 goals. The year of 2007 brought about the merger of Shanghai United and Shanghai Shenhua. Despite high competition, Jiang Kun enjoyed regular football. By the time the 2009 campaign came around the player had embarked on a season-long loan at Henan Construction. During his time with the club he scored one goal in 27 matches.
In 2006 the midfielder won a cap for his national team, making his debut on June 7, 2006 in a friendly against France. He would go on to make another 3 appearances before the start of the 2007 AFC Asian Cup.
